Sweet Summertime

Hello-I hope you are all enjoying summer. I know I am. :) I haven't updated in a while and I thought it was high time I refreshed on all the things I'm thankful for.

First, I recently lost a dear coworker & friend. She was 48 and lost her battle with Colon Cancer. 48. It just sucks. Cancer sucks. Her journey while battling cancer was most inspiring. She never lost her smile, always stayed positive, and amazed everyone around her. She had the best laugh and I wish I could hear it everyday. I am so thankful for having the chance to get to know her. Even for a little while. Her loss has put so many things in perspective and helped me to look at the bigger picture. Don't sweat the small stuff. Let God do His work. We really aren't promised tomorrow.

Next, I am so thankful for my church family and small group ladies. If you are reading this then you know who you are. I couldn't do life without them. They are inspiring, tough, loving, fun, and supportive all at the same time. If I need a shoulder to cry on or someone to hold me accountable, or just someone to listen...they are there. Each one is different and beautiful in her own way. Their love for God, heart to serve, and love for people is an example to me and I am learning from each one of them.

Lastly, I am thankful for summer. Sweet Summertime. Longer days, sunshine, warm weather. grilling out. swimming. laying out. the smell of sunscreen and charcoal grills and hearing kids play in the neighborhood. I love it. I wish it was longer, but I am going to be thankful for it as long as it lasts. :)

That's all for now, more for later.

XOXO, JB
